An Audience with The Observer

We recently listened to some journalists from the Observer business desk talk about their day to day lives and agenda. Here’s a summary of the best of their revelations;
- Sunday’s see their job as setting the agenda for the week ahead rather than reviewing what has happened
- The circulation of Sunday’s is less damaged than their daily relatives
- A typical Observer story has a political slant and the environment is a popular topic
- They like credible, timely spokespeople to comment on stories. It is however difficult for small companies to be considered unless the subject matter is very specialist
- They are most interested in brands people have heard of
- Look ahead at what’s coming up and see if you can provide a comment, case study or add value in some way
